Do you offer outdoor seating at the East Village branch?
Yes, our East Village bistro features a charming outdoor dining patio on 14th Street that accommodates up to 10 guests, alongside an intimate 20-seat indoor dining layout. Patio seating is subject to daily weather conditions and availability.
Which subway lines drop off closest to the restaurant?
We are exceptionally accessible; the 1st Ave L train station sits just moments away, while the major 14th St-Union Square station (servicing the 4, 5, 6, L, N, Q, R, W lines) is less than a five-minute walk from our front door.
I have never tried Georgian food. What should I order first?
Start with a khachapuri, a plate of khinkali and something from the cold table — that trio covers the three things Georgian cooking is best known for. Our Adjaruli khachapuri arrives as a boat of molten Georgian cheese topped with butter and an egg yolk you stir in at the table. Khinkali are hand-pleated dumplings filled with seasoned meat, spinach and cheese, or mushrooms. Add Assorted Pkhali — vegetable and walnut rolls served with house cornbread — and you have a proper introduction to the table.
Do you have vegetarian and vegan options in the East Village?
Yes — Georgian cooking is unusually generous to plant-based eaters, and a large share of our menu contains no meat at all. Ajapsandali (eggplant, tomato and bell pepper), Assorted Pkhali, Lobio bean stew, Lobiani bean bread, the house pickles and our grilled and roasted vegetables are all meat-free. Vegetarians who eat dairy can also order Spinach and Cheese or Mushroom Khinkali and any of our cheese khachapuri. Let your server know you are eating vegan and they will point you to the dishes made without dairy.
Do you offer takeout and delivery in the East Village?
Yes. You can order Georgian food for pickup or delivery from our 14th Street kitchen through our online ordering page. The clay-pot stews, khinkali and lobiani all travel well. We do recommend eating khachapuri soon after pickup, while the cheese is still molten.
What time do you open, and when is happy hour?
Our East Village bistro is open daily from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM, and happy hour runs Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The 10:00 AM opening makes us one of the earlier sit-down options on 14th Street, and the late close suits dinner after a show or an evening walk around Union Square. For the patio or a larger table, we recommend booking ahead.
